Meryl Meyer " I am drawn to paint what captures my heart and inner soul" Pioneer is a great way to describe myself. I love to explore new art forms and will step out into new vistas for inspiration. As an Art Therapist in N.Y.C., I created successful new programs in hospitals where Art Therapy did not exist. How lucky I am to have a profession that incorporates using my love of art with healing people. When Computer Art was in its infancy, I took on the challenge and delved into this new art form at the New York School of Visual Arts. Using sophisticated paint software, I painted landscapes, still lifes, animals, and portraits with a digital brush and tablet. It was a new and wondrous journey which ended up with a one woman Computer Art show, and being chosen to exhibit at the National Siggraph Art Show in Atlanta, Georgia. Painting my own pets, led to another new and rewarding journey. I am now a commissioned pet portrait artist. This tapped into my love of animals and their cherished family bonds. My medium is acrylic paints on canvas. Now living in the Mountains of Western North Carolina, I am also branching out and painting goats and horses. |
